Some hackathons on Boundless include post-event milestones: additional deliverables (e.g., mainnet deployment, documentation, integrations) that winners can complete after the event to unlock extra payouts from escrow.

How it works

  1. The organizer defines post-event milestones and the reward for each.
  2. Winners are announced and receive their main hackathon prizes.
  3. Winners can optionally complete post-event milestones by the stated deadline.
  4. When a milestone is approved, the corresponding payout is released from escrow to the winner.

For participants

  • Check the hackathon details for post-event milestones and deadlines.
  • Submit deliverables as specified; the organizer (or designated reviewer) approves and triggers the payout.

For organizers

  • When organizing, add post-event milestones and fund them in escrow if you want to incentivize follow-through (e.g., shipping to mainnet, open-sourcing).
