Disputes can arise when parties disagree about completion, quality, or eligibility (e.g., bounty submission, grant milestone, campaign delivery). This guide outlines how to handle them on Boundless.

When a dispute can occur

  • Bounties Claimer says work is done; creator disagrees. Or multiple claimers dispute who should win.
  • Grants Applicant or grantee disagrees with a rejected application or milestone.
  • Crowdfunding Backers dispute whether a milestone was fulfilled.

Steps

1

Communicate first

When possible, resolve with the other party via the platform or supported channels. Many issues are misunderstandings.
2

Open a dispute

If you can’t resolve it, open a dispute from the relevant page (bounty, grant, or campaign). Provide evidence and a clear description.
3

Respond to the other side

The other party can respond. Provide any additional evidence requested.
4

Review and resolution

Boundless or designated reviewers evaluate the dispute and decide. Outcomes can include releasing funds, partial release, or refund. Both parties are notified.

Tips

  • Keep evidence (links, messages, deliverables) so you can support your case.
  • Be clear and factual in your dispute description.
