Campaign milestones define what the creator will deliver and when portions of the raised funds are released from escrow. This reduces risk for backers and keeps creators accountable.

How it works

  1. Creator defines milestones When creating a campaign, the creator sets milestones (e.g., “Alpha release,” “Documentation,” “Mainnet launch”) and what percentage or amount of funds unlocks for each.
  2. Backers fund the campaign Contributions go to escrow. See Backing campaigns.
  3. Creator delivers For each milestone, the creator submits evidence (e.g., link, report).
  4. Release If the milestone is approved (by the system, organizer, or community validation), that portion of funds is released to the creator.

For creators

  • Define clear, verifiable milestones so backers and validators can approve releases without ambiguity.
  • Deliver on time to maintain trust and unlock funds.

For backers

  • Review the milestone structure before backing so you know when and how funds are released.
