# Verify your identity

> How to complete identity verification (KYC) on Boundless. Powered by Didit. Required to withdraw funds.

> **TL;DR:** Boundless uses [Didit](https://didit.me/) for identity verification (KYC). You need to complete KYC before you can **withdraw** your funds (for example, to an external wallet). This guide outlines the process.

## When KYC is required

**Withdrawing your funds** (USDC) from Boundless requires KYC. That includes:

* Withdrawing to an external wallet
* Moving USDC out so you can convert it to local currency on an exchange

So: you can earn and hold a balance without KYC, but to **take funds off the platform** you must complete identity verification.

Some programs (e.g., certain grant or campaign rules) may also require KYC for compliance; check the program details.

## How Boundless does KYC: Didit

Boundless partners with [Didit](https://didit.me/) for KYC. Didit is an identity platform that handles ID verification, liveness checks, and related compliance. Your verification runs through their flow; Boundless receives the result (e.g., approved, declined, or in review).

## Steps

    In the Boundless app, open the verification or account settings section and start the KYC flow. You'll be guided to Didit's verification experience.

  <Step title="Complete the checks">
    Follow the prompts: you may be asked for an ID (e.g., passport or national ID), a selfie, and/or a liveness check. Didit runs these in real time.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Wait for the result">
    Didit reviews your submission. You'll be notified when verification is complete or if more information is needed. Boundless will then know whether you're verified for withdrawals.
