# Create your account

> Get set up on Boundless in about 5 minutes, for contributors, backers, and organizers.

> **TL;DR:** Sign up with your email, complete a short profile, and choose your role. Complete KYC when you're ready to withdraw. You can then browse and take part in bounties, hackathons, grants, and crowdfunding.

## Before you start

* No blockchain experience required. Boundless is built to feel like a normal web app.

## Step 1: Create your account

Go to [Boundless](https://www.boundlessfi.xyz) and sign up with your email and the sign-in method the app offers (e.g., password). You don't need a wallet or seed phrase, Boundless manages your balance for you.

## Step 2: Your account and balance

Boundless **abstracts wallets**: the platform holds your balance (USDC and other supported assets) so you don't need a separate wallet app or seed phrase. Payouts from bounties, grants, hackathons, or crowdfunding go to your Boundless balance. You can add funds or withdraw when the app supports it.

## Step 3: Complete KYC (when you need to withdraw)

**Withdrawing your funds** from Boundless (to an external wallet, so you can convert to local currency on an exchange) **requires KYC**. Boundless uses [Didit](https://didit.me/) for identity verification. If you're only earning and holding a balance on the platform, you can skip KYC until you want to withdraw.
