# Converting USDC to local currency

> How to turn your USDC earnings into local currency using an exchange.

> **TL;DR:** Boundless pays you in USDC. Converting USDC to your local currency happens through a cryptocurrency exchange, not inside Boundless.

## How it works

Boundless does not convert crypto to local currency itself. To cash out:

1. Complete [identity verification](/start-here/verify-your-identity), withdrawals are gated by KYC.
2. Withdraw your USDC from your [Boundless wallet](/concepts/wallet-and-balance) to a wallet or address you control.
3. Use a cryptocurrency exchange that supports **USDC on Stellar** and serves your country to convert it to local currency and withdraw to your bank.

## Before you cash out

* Check [supported countries](/reference/supported-countries), availability of verification and payouts depends on your region.
* Make sure the exchange you choose supports USDC on the Stellar network specifically, and note any fees it charges, those are set by the exchange, not by Boundless.
