# Score submissions

> Walk through scoring hackathon submissions as a judge on Boundless.

> **TL;DR:** Once you accept a judging invitation, open your judge dashboard, review each assigned submission, and score it against every rubric criterion before the deadline.

## Getting access

You judge a hackathon when its organizer invites you. Accept the invitation, and the event's submissions appear in your judge dashboard once the submission window has closed.

## Scoring each submission

For each submission assigned to you:

1. Open the submission and review the project, its materials, and any linked demo or repository.
2. Score it on every criterion in the [rubric](/organizers/how-judging-works). If an AI summary is available, use it to review faster, but the score is your call.
3. Save your scores. You can revise them until scoring closes.

## Deadlines

Scoring runs until the event's judging deadline. Submit all your scores before it closes, once judging ends, totals are locked and winners are determined.

  Score consistently across submissions. Because weights are fixed by the rubric, using the same standard for every entry is what keeps the result fair.
