# Running programs on Boundless

> How organizers post bounties, host hackathons, and run grant programs, funded by escrow, decided by people.

> **TL;DR:** Organizing on Boundless is self-serve. You fund a program, contributors do the work, a human review step decides the outcome, and the escrow contract settles payouts in USDC. Some organizer screens are still rolling out.

## The shared flow

Every program, bounty, hackathon, or grant, follows the same four steps:

1. **Fund**: your budget is locked in [on-chain escrow](/concepts/escrow-and-human-review) when you publish.
2. **Work**: contributors apply, submit, or ship.
3. **Review**: a human decides: you pick a winner, a panel scores submissions, a reviewer approves a milestone, or the community votes.
4. **Settle**: once review passes, the contract releases payouts, usually within about a minute.
