# FAQ: Crowdfunding

    Creators run [campaigns](/backers/overview) with a funding goal. Backers contribute USDC; funds are held in escrow and released according to the campaign’s [milestone structure](/backers/milestones-and-releases) when the creator delivers and (if applicable) [community validation](/backers/vote-on-campaigns) passes.
