# Form a hackathon team

> How to form or join a team for a Boundless hackathon.

Many hackathons on Boundless allow or require teams. This guide covers how to form a team or join one.

## Forming a team

    In the hackathon details, see whether teams are allowed, max size, and how to register as a team.

    Invite teammates (e.g., by wallet address or username). They accept to join the team.

    Register your team for the event before the deadline. Ensure all members are confirmed.

## Joining a team

* Accept an invite from a team lead, or browse open teams if the event supports it.
* Once you’re on the team, you’re part of the same submission; prizes are typically shared per the event’s rules.

## Tips

* Agree on roles and how you’ll split work (and any prizes) before the hackathon starts.
* Ensure everyone has [set up their wallet](/concepts/wallet-and-balance) and can access the project.
