# Apply for a grant

> How to apply for a grant on Boundless: choosing a program, preparing your application, and what happens next.

Grant applications on Boundless are submitted to a [grant program](/organizers/run-a-grant-program). Each program defines its eligibility, focus areas, and review criteria.

  You can browse grants on Boundless today. The self-serve application screens are still rolling out, so for some programs applications are handled by the organizer (for example, through a program link). The steps below describe how it works.

## Before you apply

## Steps

    Browse [grant programs](/organizers/run-a-grant-program) and pick one that matches your project.

  <Step title="Prepare your application">
    Write your project description and goals, and break the work into the milestones you'll deliver, each with a timeline. Add any requested attachments or links.

  <Step title="Submit">
    Submit your application before the deadline. You may need to verify your identity depending on the program.

  <Step title="Review and decision">
    The program manager reviews applications and selects winners. If you're accepted, you deliver your milestones one at a time. See [Deliver milestones](/contributors/grants/deliver-milestones).
