# Submit your work

> How to submit your entry to a bounty on Boundless, including applications, deadlines, and Credits.

> **TL;DR:** When your work is ready, submit it through the bounty's submission form before the deadline. Some bounties require you to apply first, and taking part costs [Credits](/contributors/get-paid/credits).

## What you'll learn

* The difference between applying and submitting
* What a submission form asks for
* When your submission is visible, and what happens after the deadline

***

## Apply first, or submit directly?

It depends on the bounty's mode:

* **Open bounties** let you submit your work directly.
* **Vetted bounties** ask you to [apply](/contributors/bounties/apply) first, with a short application or a fuller proposal, and you submit once you're approved.

The bounty page tells you which applies before you start.

## Filling out the submission form

Each bounty defines its own requirements, so the form is tailored to that bounty. You might be asked for a link, a file, a repository, a demo, or a written summary. Submitting to a bounty costs [Credits](/contributors/get-paid/credits), the exact cost is shown before you confirm.

<Note>
  In a **competition** bounty, entries are compared together after the deadline, so you're judged on your finished work. See [How winners are chosen and paid](/contributors/bounties/how-winners-are-paid).
</Note>

## Before the deadline

* Submit early; late entries aren't accepted once the deadline passes.
* Deliver exactly what the bounty asks for, missing requirements are the most common reason work is passed over.
* You can update your submission until the deadline unless the bounty says otherwise.

## After you submit

The organizer (or a panel) reviews the entries and selects the winner or winners. When you're selected, escrow releases your reward in USDC. See [How winners are picked and paid](/contributors/bounties/how-winners-are-paid).
