# Bounties overview

> Introduction to bounties on Boundless: paid tasks where the best work wins.

Bounties on Boundless are tasks with a reward. Funders lock payment in [on-chain escrow](/concepts/escrow-and-human-review); claimers complete the work and receive the reward when conditions are met.

## Key concepts

* **Bounty:** A task plus a reward (in USDC or other assets), held in escrow until completion.
* **Mode:** How a bounty is set up, its entry type and how the winner is selected. See [Bounty modes](/contributors/bounties/bounty-modes).

* Browse open bounties and filter by skill, reward, or mode.
* [Apply for bounties](/contributors/bounties/apply) according to the rules of each bounty.
* Build [reputation](/concepts/reputation) by delivering quality work.

## For creators

* Fund escrow; once the task is completed and verified, funds release to the winner(s).
