# Backing campaigns

> How to back a crowdfunding campaign on Boundless.

Backing a campaign means contributing USDC (or other supported assets) to a creator’s funding goal. Your funds are held in [on-chain escrow](/concepts/escrow-and-human-review) and released according to the campaign’s [milestone structure](/backers/milestones-and-releases) when the creator delivers and (if applicable) [community validation](/backers/vote-on-campaigns) passes.

## Before you back

* [Set up your wallet](/concepts/wallet-and-balance) with USDC to contribute.
* Read the campaign description, goal, and milestone structure so you know how and when funds are released.

## Steps

    Browse campaigns and pick one you want to support.

    Enter the amount you want to back and confirm the transaction. Funds move from your wallet into the campaign’s escrow.

    Follow milestone updates. If the campaign uses community validation, you may be able to vote on milestone releases.

## Tips

* Back only what you can afford to commit. Refunds depend on the campaign’s rules (e.g., goal not met, cancellation).
* Check the creator’s [reputation](/concepts/reputation) and campaign history when available.
